On 11 December 2024, the Vereeniging Branch team attended the annual ADA Formation Excellence Awards in Kimberley. The day kicked off with the ADA Formation Medal Parade. The Functionary for the parade was Brig Gen L.A. Mafune, General Officer Commanding, SA Army ADA Formation.
During the afternoon the team attended the ADA Annual Gunners Memorial Parade.
Gunner Renier Henning participated in the wreath Laying Ceremony, representing Gunner Kevin Ashton, National Chairman of the Gunners’ Association.
The highlight of the day was the ADA Formation Excellence Award Ceremony at the Officer’s Club at 10 AA Regiment. The Gunners’ Association SA was well represented by Maj Gen Gunner Mazibuko, General of the Gunners’, Brig Gen J Baird, Director Army Acquisition, Gunner Wolf Wassermeier, National Deputy President, and Gunner Renier Henning, Chairman of the Vereeniging Branch.
Brig Gen L.A. Mafune, GOC ADA Formation, addressed the recipients and handed over the certificated and awards.
Awards for the best Best Academic Leaner on the Battery Commanders Course, Best Academic Learner on the Troop Commanders Course, and Best Academic Learner on the Troop Commanders Course also received the Gunners Association gift from Gunner Wolf Wassermeier.
