MMM update: New exhibit acquisition day

MMM update: New exhibit acquisition day is always an exciting day for the management and staff of MMM.

The Ditsong National Military Museum in Johannesburg once again donated a very special piece to our Museum.
A 1893 Spandau 15cm Howitzer which was used by the German forces against General Smuts during the war in South West Africa in 1914. The gun and others were brought back to SA after the German surrender.
The removal and relocation from Ditsong was made possible by the wonderful donation of:
A 20T crane by JOHNSON CRANE HIRE in Edenvale.
A heavy duty trailer by WOODART JOINERY in Springs.
Transportation by PROSAFE SECURITY.
Sandblasting by EZIBLAST SANDBLASTING

This precious artefact will immediately get a thorough sandblasting and paint job. then a new set of wooden wheels and restoration. It should be on display at MMM by the end of September
