The respraying of the GV1 gun at the Memorial in Potchefstroom will be completed in time for the filming of the Memorial Service on 7 May 2021. The respraying of the GV1 from the Old Command building on the Ventersdorp Road will follow shortly thereafter, as will the 40mm ADA gun at the Memorial. The wooden slats on the shields of the guns around the Memorial will also be refurbished in time for the filming.
Thanks to the Gunners’ Memorial Trust for these initiatives.
