Change of Command Parade – GOC SA Army Air Defence Artillery Formation.

Proud Gunners and distinguished guests gathered on this day which marked the last day of the Air Defence Artillery Week of Excellence, to witness a Change of Command parade between the outgoing General Officer Commanding SA Army Air Defence Artillery Formation, Major General Sandile Hlongwa, who is now appointed as the General Officer Commanding Joint Operations Headquarters and Brigadier General Leon Puckree the incoming General Officer Commanding. Brigadier General Leon Puckree was appointed to this post since March 2021.

As we bid farewell to one of the fathers of the Gunners, we will never forget the contributions that he made to the Formation and ultimately to the Corps which made the SA Army Air Defence Artillery what it is today, we also formally welcome our new General Officer Commanding and we as staff members look forward to working with him as he steers the Air Defence Artillery Ship to more prosperous and greater heights than those achieved by his predecessors.
