On Saturday, 14 September 2024, a group of retired Permanent Force Gunners gathered at GEM Village in Irene, Pretoria, for a long-anticipated reunion. For many of these veterans, it was their first opportunity to reconnect in over a decade.
The day commenced with a ceremonial one-gun salute, followed by the proud unfurling of the artillery flag—a moment steeped in tradition and camaraderie. The remainder of the event was filled with heartfelt nostalgia as the attendees shared stories, enjoyed drinks, and savored a well-prepared lunch.
Plans are already underway for the next reunion, which is scheduled to take place exactly a year from this date, promising another chance to celebrate the enduring bonds of brotherhood and service.
